Deep Dive with Xu on License To Live

Xu recorded “License To Live” during his first recording out of jail. During his time incarcerated he was able to develop in music, which allowed him to be more vulnerable on the track. Definitely one of my favorite tracks he did early on. The message I received off the record was Freedom, we all have a license to live but have to pay. Defining the sound and arrangements of the single, Xu is speaking to the women. First, he lets her know how he feels. What was next was his perspective, his lady must know how to fit in his shoes. After, He questioned if she’s willing to live this life with him and explore the pros and cons when associated with him.

His music has a lot of range, even though he can’t tell you what he’s doing or going for, until the mics on and the beats playing.
